Reading, after a certain age, diverts the mind too much from its creative pursuits. Any man who reads too much and uses his own brain too little falls into lazy habits of thinking. – Albert Einstein
We would agree that if all we ever did was watch television our brains would eventually turn to mush. But these days reading a book is considered an intelligent activity, especially when compared with a video game or DVD. How different things must have been if Einstein thought it a lazy pursuit.
I understand that none of us are Einstein but there is being naturally gifted, and then there is applying to process. Einstein obviously did both – neither on their own would have made him as intelligent as he was.
